This bit has a cutting diameter of 1/2 in. and a cutting depth of 1/4 in. The bearing has a diameter of 5/8 in. which helps preserve the template. The shank diameter is 1/4 in. Especially designed for hinge mortising templates, this offset template trim bit will allow you to Route corners with radiuses as small as 1/4 in. The larger bearing distances the blade from the template, shielding it from any unwanted trimming. Offset flush trim router bits are used to get an even smaller corner radius than the shank bearing would normally allow. The cutting diameter is smaller than the bearing diameter and therefore some compensation is required when making your templates. These bits are commonly used for hinge mortising and small solid body guitar cavities. Flush trim template router bits work in your router table or handheld router. Secure your template to the top face of the work for handheld operations or to the bottom face of the work when using a router table.
