The Presto Gigabit USB 3.0 Network Adapter from Sonnet instantly bridges the gap left by the missing onboard port, plugging in between your computer’s USB 3.0 or 2.0 port* and the RJ-45 network connection as well as enabling file access and sharing at up to 1 Gbps. The adapter’s setup is simple – download and install a driver, connect the adapter to your network connection and then configure the adapter settings through the OS X Network control panel or Windows Device Manager.
The adapter supports 1000/100/10BaseT auto-negotiation and full/half-duplex communication, enabling it to easily connect with most networks. It also supports jumbo packet transfers (compared to 1500 byte standard packets) to provide high performance and reduced overhead when transferring large files.
The Presto Gigabit USB 3.0 Adapter is USB powered, so there’s no AC adapter to deal with. It is also very energy efficient, using less power when no data is being transmitted. A 5.5″ (14cm) USB 3.0 cable is included to keep the adapter close to your computer and allow you to see the adapter’s power, link and activity LED indicators. Furthermore, this adapter is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 connections*.
